Construction has already begun on the Palazzo Hotel and
Casino, Sands Corporations new $1.8 billion dollar
world-class luxury hotel, casino and
resort. In February, the Sands introduced a new design
element to the project, a 632-foot high-rise tower near the
Strip entrance. The condo tower will sit atop a 90,000
square-foot building that will house Barneys, a New
York-based high-end men's and women's apparel store that
will be part of the Palazzo's retail development. The luxury
condo tower is projected to cost $465 million and only have
a limited number of luxury residential condos in the tower.
Prices are expected to start over $1 million but have not
been officially announced at this time.
With an ambience reminiscent of upscale California settings
such as Beverly Hills, Bel-Air and Rodeo Drive, the Palazzo will
include an all-suites 50-floor hotel tower with 3,000 luxury rooms,
375 suites, plus six villas with up to 11,000 square feet each. The
105,000 square foot casino will have 1,900 slot machines and 80
table games. The 250,000 square foot pool deck will connect with the
Venetian's pool deck, and Palazzo's pool deck will have an outdoor
restaurant and two private villas. The two poolside villas have
private elevators which take the guests directly to the
5,000 square foot baccarat pit.
The Palazzo is expected to open by the end of the 2007 or in early
2008, but an exact opening date for the condo tower is not yet
known. At completion, the combined
Palazzo, Venetian and Sands Expo and Convention Center will be the
largest resort and hotel complex in the world, with over 7,300 hotel
rooms and suites.
